Our People
Hannah O'Connor
Social Worker/Counsellor
I am a registered social worker offering social work and counselling services to individuals needing support. My background includes extensive experience in crisis mental health settings, where I have supported people through times of significant distress and trauma. These experiences have strengthened my belief in the importance of compassion, respect, and understanding when working alongside others.
My approach is trauma-informed and person-centred. I believe in meeting people where they are at and creating a safe, supportive space where they can explore their experiences at their own pace. I draw on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and other evidence-based approaches to help people develop practical skills, build capacity, and create positive change in their lives.
Having lived in the Bay of Plenty all my life, I feel deeply connected to this region and the people who call it home. I find balance and inspiration in creating art, nature and at the beach, and I bring that same sense of calm and authenticity to my work. I’m passionate about supporting people during times of vulnerability and walking alongside them as they move toward healing and growth.
